Available in 20L, 30L, and 70L (!!) and made of 100% waterproof Dyneema fabric, this is one big arse indestructible gear hauler you need
Anyone else have a tote bag filled with tote bags in their closet? A souvenir from Judd's gallery in Marfa, two or three from the local coffee roaster, a few brand swag freebies, all packed with many more inside another slightly bigger bag. Putting each of these canvas disposables to shame is the aptly named G.O.A.T. Tote by Hyperlite Mountain Gear, available in 20L, 30L, and all-new 70L (!!).
We've long been fans of Hyperlite Mountain Gear's bright white backpacks and pyramid shaped shelters—the Maine-based brand is a leader in ultralight outdoor equipment category and justifiably so. As it turns out, they've taken the same intensely minimalist, R&D driven approach to the new tote bag, utilizing the same 100% waterproof 150D Dyneema Composite Fabric that’s used in their packs to ensure long lasting dependability. Could this tote one be the Greatest Of All Time? Hyperlite sure thinks so. And we might just agree.
The G.O.A.T. Tote is offered in two colorways and three sizes—the 20-liter bag weighs in at a scant 6.8 ounces, the 30-liter version runs 9.2 ounces, and the whopper 70-liter tote clocks in at 12.1 ounces—to tackle all your schlepping needs. Each has its own clear use-case, be it running errands around town, weekend getaways, or even hauling massive loads like climbing ropes, ski gear, and camp equipment.
External loops on the handles increase carrying capacity on each with the clip of a carabiner—connect a pair of crocs, water bottle, or maybe just a chalk bag to keep the dangle factor low—and a single interior zippered pocket keeps valuables secure and within quick reach.
Another key detail we love, which may seem like a small thing but is in fact hugely helpful, is that this tote stands up on its own, even when empty. This makes loading and unloading considerably easier. And when it’s not needed, the tote packs perfectly flat to take up minimal space in your gear bin—or closet tote cache.
And now back to the nerdy part: Dyneema. What makes DCH150 fabric so special? The wonder-fabric packs abrasion resistance, moisture impermeability, and high strength into a lightweight package. It’s considerably lighter, more durable, and more weatherproof than heavyweight canvases we’re used to seeing on higher quality totes of this size.
Yeah, we’ve got a lot of totes already, and we're sure you do, too. But the G.O.A.T. Tote ($99-$160) damn near invents a whole new category of carry-alls. And it might just be the last tote you'll ever need to buy.
